I am a general pediatrician residing in Hershey, PA. I am a very passionate breastfeeding
advocate, Chapter Breastfeeding Coordinator for the PA AAP(American Academy of Pediatrics) and moderator for the DR. MILK Facebook group-an exclusive online community for female physicians that breastfeed and/or are interested in learning about lactation. I was one of the AAP’s Section on Breastfeeding abstract reviewers this year for the AAP’s National Conference and Exhibition (NCE) which will be held in October. In addition, I am a two-time breastfeeding grant recipient. The grants were aimed at improving breastfeeding rates especially in the young and black community. I am a member of the Pennsylvania Breastfeeding Coalition and have recently completed a Breastfeeding Policy course organized by the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO).
My children’s picture book on breastfeeding will be launching in August of this year for National Breastfeeding Month. It is written from the point of view of a six-year-old girl. I was blessed to have breastfed all three of my children and am still nursing my two-year-old son, who is showing signs of slowing down.
My other clinical interests include early childhood education, child advocacy and mentoring young girls and boys to be the best version of themselves. I am available for speaking engagements.
In my spare time, I love to spend time with my supportive husband of twelve years and my three beautiful children. The spa and the beach are my happy places. I also love to read biographies/autobiographies, travel, dance, watch comedies and shop!
