Russ Wrightson is a homeschooling dad of two boys ages 12 and 14. He says his boys are excited to learn from anything that crosses their paths, including videos, board games and a math book or two.

To help facilitate a homeschooling atmosphere Russ considers healthy, he organized a local secular homeschool group he describes as a club. He also serves on the Board of Directors for VAhomeschoolers.org, an inclusive statewide organization that advocates and supports at the state level.

Dad

I'm a homeschooling dad of two boys aged 12 and 14. We have been homeschooling from the beginning. My wife and her two brothers were also homeschooled, and I like them, so I've always been okay with the idea of homeschooling. Once we started we haven't looked back.

If we talk styles I guess we fall under the "eclectic" label, but only because I think unschooling is a silly way to describe something. We are excited to learn from anything that crosses our path. Videos, board games, a math book or two, whatever crosses our paths.

To help facilitate a homeschooling atmosphere that I think is healthy I organize a local Secular homeschool group. (Probably better described as a club.) I've also recently joined the Board of Directors for VAhomeschoolers.org They are the inclusive statewide organization that advocates and supports at the state level.
